Thanks for the comparison between leaps and shares. All of this talk lately on margin is getting me highly interested in using margin. I never tried it before and it has a totally different meaning in bond futures. In my experience, (in futures) margin is just an amount from your account balance that is set aside until a naked position is closed. It is not borrowing from anyone and to sell calls, the margin requirement has to be already in the account.

But for stocks, it's different. Using the broker's money with interest of course. Have you used stock margin and what is your experience?
