Whenever someone, some industry or some company gets squeezed out or finds themselves in Jurassic Park on their technology or business model, they will fight and not go down easily. The broadband revolution will cause many current businesses (Blockbuster, AOL, Amazon) to rethink their model, technology and strategic position. When they feel boxed in or that they are getting boxed in, they lash out (witness AOL and other ISP's new battle to open the cable pipe).

Blockbuster has done it by creating a revenue sharing agreement that has allowed them to deliver more profit to the studios and increase their market share at the expense of the mom and pop shops (these will be all but gone over the coming years).

I would expect content companies to protect their selected investments in services and technologies. Why would Time Warner offer their movies or video library to a competitor that would use their cable plant to deliver the movie when they already have Roadrunner and VOD? Battle lines will be drawn. But I think I would rather be Roadrunner looking for carrige or content from Time Warner than AOL. I would rather be Intertainer looking for the same from Comcast, NBC, Sony or US West than @home. It will all be very interesting and I would assume profitable to watch it come together and see the winners emerge. I think CCUR is one of those winners, yet I don't think they need to take sides, everyone will need video servers.
