Derek I liked reading what Cowell said about interoperability..........

"The U.S. Robotics preemptive strike seems devastating. With regards to interoperability, Casey Cowell, chairman of U.S. Robotics, somewhat smugly points out that he is in a difficult position being asked to declare interoperability with a product that doesn't exist yet.According to Cowell, U.S. Robotics has a three to six month lead in deploying actual working 56 kbps equipment.

Makes perfect sense to me.
