The store has 25,000 sq ft and is located at a crossroads in the Salem area. Salem is an old farming town that has become a bedroom community for the southern Utah county area. Salem is just south of Spanish Fork, UT. The purpose of the store, apart from making money, is to be used as a demonstration unit. The company plans to franchise the concept as well as operate company stores. Neldon Johnson has had extensive grocery experience and understands the major impact that the store can have for the industry. Obviously, the fingerprint concept will be new to the public, however, to encourage use of the fingerprint technology, customers will be given a 5% discount on their purchases. The company hopes to open the store sometime between the 15th -25th of Feb. DWM is in the final stages of testing. The DWM worked on slower hardware back in Nov-Dec and they are reconfiguring the software on new high speed equipment. The challenge has been to get all of the hardware and software to operate without conflicts. I wish that I could get my PC to operate without conflict, especially when I am using the Internet!!! For the faithful, the results will be pleasing.
