**** Good One<GGG> OK, YOU asked for it.<G>

Actually my plane story is real. We started take-off from LAX and the engines just didn't sound "right" to me. I was feeling REAL wierd and a nervous, But I was looking around and everybody was talking and acting normal.
(We had already been delayed twice & in fact had boarded and had to get off so they could do mechanical work-I had reason to be apprehensive.)

That made it even worse. It felt like a twilight Zone episode. Everyone around me's normal and I'm ready to panic<G>
Engine is still sounding VERY odd, we just start to take off when we DROP HARD back to the runway and start a REALLY RAPID braking action.

I'm starting to get a "little' nervous by this time ;-)
We come to a shuddering start about 50ft from a freeway embankment!

They had to come and get us with the little "plane-movers". Evidently, A hydraulic hose/pipe had burst and we had dropped all the Hydraulic fluid that operates the controls.

Did good though-Got free "anywhere in the US" round-trip tickets for my "troubles", a 50 dollar voucher for next ticket purchase, and free drinks in the airport bar. Spent several hours there to recover from my trauma<VBG>
