Here's my perspective: I work for a Dow 30 corp., and last year we added approximately equal numbers of Sun workstations (mostly Ultra 1's) and NT machines. Sun for engineers, NT for Powerpoint and Excel
users.

You simply can't do serious engineering work (CFD, finite element analysis) on a Wintel machine. Conversely, can Sun capture any of the
low end market? Maybe so, with Sparc 5's running Interleaf and Lotus.
Some in our MIS dept. have very little respect for NT, and there may be enough pent up frustration and resentment towards Microsoft that the newly marked-down Sparc 5 will be seen as a viable alternative. We can hope!
