M., Which Willamette architect are you talking about now? My comment was: "Apparently the Willamette? design team has such an architect." Obviously I know little about Willamette, other than reports that it has a very deep pipeline. Concerning Dirk Meyer. The 21264 seems to be turning into a clock speed and manufacturability disaster. Since he was the 21264 architect, it raises some questions about his skills. The large die size on K7 is inexcusable as far as I'm concerned. Production microprocessors should not be confused with graduate school research projects. Scumbria
