How exactly does that suggest your scenario? I think they are losing money because they are expanding their market. Both thru aggressive marketing and product expansion. Where in their losses does it suggest otherwise?

Just reread my message. A particularly strong Xmas season made little difference on their losses... The extra revenues had not been spoken for, and should have resulted in increased earnings, if they were a fundamentally profitable enterprise just losing money because of expansion.

But if you can add a 25% bonus to the top line and the bottom line not only does not improve but in fact, falls by nearly the same percentage, then the evidence strongly suggests that each item is being sold at a loss.
