Yes, it may defend itself, but it is defending an immoral dictatorship and so, to Iraq, like a monstrous Hydra, we must play Hercules and cut it down to size. Despite past, erroneous, U.S. policies, WE CANNOT SUFFER A DESPOT TO LIVE. It is in the interests of our national security (read long-term liberties).

Actually, we are quite the "nice guy". If we were really "mean, old Americans" who weren't so meticulous in our warfare we might have just used up some of our older nuclear weapons to dispose of some surplus inventory.
