George,

Your observation provides sorely-needed contrast to the frequent hype on this thread about Radisys being "Son of Intel". Everyone here needs to bear in mind that last year, when Intel wanted an embedded operating system for ther new i960RP I2O (Inteligent I/O) chip, they contracted with Wind Rivers Systems (WIND) to provide it. As a result of this deal, WIND will get a royalty from INTC for each chip sold, regardless of whether or not a different embedded operating system is used. In other words, Wind River Systems is "Partner of Intel".

I believe that investors interested in a long-term investment in embedded systems should consider WIND. A wealth of information is available on the WIND thread. Of course, everyone should do their own detailed research before making an investment. I have no recommendations about an entry price or target price.
