I'm convinced beyond any doubt that it's the other way around and that Dell got market share away from Compaq. We'll find out this week-end with the IDC numbers.

Poor Compaq shareholders, first they get nothing out of the AV spin-off, then good earnings bring their portfolio down, their darling stock gets downgraded, and next week the IDC data will bring them back to reality.

Dell is the next Dell, Compaq is the same Compaq.
