TORONTO, Jan. 27 /CNW/ - SmartSales Inc. (Alberta Exch: SA), today announced record sales of its leading SmartSales software products during the three months ended December 31, 1998. Unaudited financial results show revenues in excess of $200,000 during the quarter, an increase of approximately 150 per cent over the previous quarter. The increase in sales coincided with the recently announced full commercial roll-out of all SmartSales software products, and significant growth in the Company's network of value-added resellers across North America. Approximately 75% of the sales during Fourth Quarter, 1998, were generated by partner resellers. The record sales during the final quarter represented approximately 40% of revenues for the year, resulting in overall unaudited revenues for 1998 to approximately $550,000, compared to $264,504 in 1997, an increase of about 108 per cent. SmartSales Chairman Peter D'Cruz said today: ''The rapid increase in sales reflects the growing market awareness and popularity of SmartSales products as the Company has moved from development to a full sales and marketing organization during the latter part of 1998. SmartSales is now strategically positioned to continue this rapid growth cycle throughout 1999.'' SmartSales software products are used by corporate sales teams and their managers to increase sales performance and generate reliable forecasts. Large corporations currently using SmartSales products include: Toshiba Corporation, Citibank, Royal Bank of Canada, Webster Bank, and AutoDesk, the fourth largest PC software company in the world. The Company expects further developments in the near future. The Alberta Stock Exchange has neither approved nor disapproved the information herein.
