FRANKLIN ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT BETWEEN AMERICAN CASH CARD CORP. & FRANKLIN ALLY DCI
Westlake Village, CA.; Franklin Telecom announced today that DCI Telecommunications, with which Franklin has a strategic alliance, has signed an agreement with Telephonica International, Inc. (TLPH), an affiliate of American Cash Card Corporation (ACC), providers of telecommunications services with access in more than 100 countries. In 1995, ACC's sales topped $20 million. ACC and its affiliates maintain offices in New York, Boston, Miami and Caracas. This agreement allows DCI to add prepaid phone features to its Privilege Card and for ACC to add Privilege features to its prepaid phone cards almost immediately.
According to Frank Peters, president of Franklin, "This alliance is significant because it brings telco service bureau capabilities into our InterNet Operation. Our overall plan calls for us to bring in the products and talents of multiple industries in order to form a cohesive tool which will enable our customers to remain on the cutting edge of the current revolution in the way society conducts business, particularly in on-line sales and marketing."
Franklin recently announced an agreement with DCI, whose headquarters are in Fairfield, CT. which enables both companies to acquire a 15% "stake-out" position in each other. The agreement also allows DCI to gain 50% ownership of Franklin Internet (FNet) , a wholly owned subsidiary of Franklin Telecom provided certain financial goals are met. Plans call for FNet to be taken public via an Initial Public Offering.
Franklin is already a provider of a comprehensive range of Internet access options, applications and consulting services. FNet's objective is to be a leading worldwide supplier of complete communications solutions to businesses, professionals, and individuals utilizing Internet related technologies.
Talks are underway between TLPH/DCI and FTEL which may allow TLPH to modify several of Franklin's proprietary products and add them to their proprietary voice/fax switches; this will allow Internet users to send or receive voice/fax , as well as data, to or from a regular telephone anywhere in the world-- without requiring a computer at the other end. In return, TLPH would receive FTEL stock and participate in the forthcoming FNet IPO.
