Franklin Receives Order From Hughes Aircraft

Westlake Village, CA.> Franklin Telecom announced today it has received a substantial
order from Hughes Aircraft for its ICP186 Multi Processor Computer System. Franklin
has been selling this product to Hughes and other customers requiring highly reliable Co
Processor Systems for 8 years.

According to Frank W. Peters, Franklin's President & CEO, "The significance of this
order is that it indicates a break the 'hold' environment for advanced systems of this kind
at Hughes. Our Multi Processor is unlike the Multi Tasking systems such as Windows
'95 which use one CPU to manage all tasks. The Franklin unit uses several CPU's
instead of one to accomplish extremely fast real time applications in areas such as
communications processing."

Peters continued, "This same Multi Processor system and software are the heart of our
Internet Router and T1 Branch Node Channel Bank."

More information can be obtained by contacting Frank Peters or Shareholder Relations
at 805-373-8688, 800-372-6556, by fax at 805-373-7373, Internet: hq@ftel.com, or on
the WEB ftel.com or by writing to Franklin at 733 Lakefield Road, Westlake
Village, CA. 91361.

Franklin Telecom has been in business since 1981 and designs and manufactures
communications devices, high speed LAN & WAN access cards and software. Franklin
has an installed base of over 100,000 nodes. Franklin is traded Over The Counter
Market as "FTEL".
