Franklin Branch Node
With T1 Wide Area Network Connectivity

The Franklin Branch Node is a fully integrated small T-1 packet/circuit switch/multiplexer
with LAN bridge/routing. Designed for small offices, it supports interconnection of data,
voice, image, LAN and video applications through a high-speed T-1 backbone network.
This product can be simultaneously used as a LAN Bridge/Router, a T-1 channel bank
and an X.25 PAD/Switch and concentrator.

The Franklin Multi-Protocol PAD (MPP) & Franklin Branch Node (FBN) terminal servers
support BSC, SNA, Burroughs Pole/Select, Honeywell VIP, 3270 Emulation, X.25 &
Frame Relay in Wide Area Network environments and are controlled by the Franklin
Network Control Center. These products have an installed base of over 20,000 units.

The Franklin Branch Node product line enables customers to reduce their telephone
costs and permit more accurate data/voice transmission by increasing the capacity of a
transmission lines up to five times or more of its current capacity. The T-1 Feeder node
is compatible with the 20,000 installed Franklin MPP nodes and the Network Control
Center products.
