Tom- You made some excellent points...which I have no desire to refute... It appears that Kumar is coming out (with an even) harder line with Compaq....smelling a little bit of arrogance...so lightly dismissing the quarter (after all, it was a good quarter, all things considered)...I am (even) a bit surprised at his tone (overall).. I have a feeling that he may be taking a little heat for taking an unpopular position (and then probably getting hammered about it)...and is now becoming even more obstinent.....is it starting to affect his judgement? Stay tuned.. Look, Kumar (might have) had an effect on (the perception) of Dell's stock/price at the end of last quarter...and Dell went on to have a great quarter of (stock) appreciation...In the end, if Compaq is turning the corner that many here think...Kumar's forecasts and classifications aren't going to mean jack.... thanks for your thoughts..good ones...
