Franklin Telecom ICT-1 CSU
T1 Interface with Channel Service Unit Direct Connect
The ICT-1 provides a 4-wire, 100 ohm interface network access device between a T1 facility and a variety of voice and data modules. It is also used as an intelligent multiplexer or fractional channel bank for public or private networks.
The ICT-1 multiplexes/demulitplexes up to 24 (64Kbps) DS-O channels from voice or data modules into a DS-1 bit stream. The ICT-1 provides the PCM interface between the platform and the external span for networks operating at 1.544Mbps
Features:
SF(D4) framing format (ESF not currently supported in software) On board CSU option for direct DS-1 connection A-Law or u-Law B8ZS line coding for unconstrained clear channel capability ICT-1 redundancy ICT-1 to ICT-1 drop and insert DSX-1 crossconnect compatible output ESF Data Link Interface External DS-1 Bus Interface (one mount) One year warranty
Channel Service Unit
The CSU provides the FCC required interface between T1 digital terminating equipment and a DS1 transmission line. Functions of the CSU include:
Ensuring that transmission with the T1 network comply with FCC Rules Part 68. Providing artificial line build-out of 0, 7.5 or 15db Providing a network keep-alive option Maintaining minimum ones density Providing integral loopback code recognition
