Jules,

I have to agree with Michael on IBM. I have my doubts as to their vision or more appropriately their lack there of. Despite gaining back some market share in the PC business (most of which I'm sure was notebook related) I think they have major problems in their PC business as well as many of their other traditional hardware businesses. I just don't see how they have the cost structure to ever be competitive in the desktop PC business. Their notebooks are well respected, right up their with Toshiba and Compaq. Their desktop systems, however, are......well..just another IBM clone. They really offer no value over other vendors such as DELL, CPQ, GATE, and MUEI and have consistently rated lower than these companies in quality and reliability.

A look at their last earnings release showed a very disturbing trend. Their highest margins businesses are growing the least and their lowest margin business (service) is growing the most.

I still have my doubts about IBM and I think that (even with Lou) their best days may be behind them. Most of IBM's recovery over the last few years has been done with headcount cuts and cost/expense control. The revenue side of the equation (especially long term) still worries me. I think to classify IBM with INTC, MSFT, and CSCO is inappropriate.
