Franklin Telecom IC2A Data Communications Processor Board
PC/XT Industry Standard Architecture
The IC2A ia a programmable high performance data communication processor board that supports synchronous or asynchronous mode at up to 64 Kbps full duplex on two ports. It installs in Industry Standard Architecture PC/XT bus micro computers and functions as a front end processor for its host system. The IC2A is used in a variety of applications including network system products, terminal emulators, programmable machine tools and load generation tools.
Zilog 85C30A Serial Communication Controllers Up to 64 Kbps per port Full duplex DMA for both ports Two RS232 ports CMOS design reduces power requirements and heat dissipation
Inter System Communications:
The IC2A runs asynchronously to the PC/XT on its own clock at 8MHz. Arbitration logic on the IC2A resolves simultaneous PC/XT and IC2A access to IC2A peripnerals. The PC/XT bus is the communications path between the PC/XT and the IC2A. PC can start, halt, reset, interrupt IC2A Jumper selectable Interrupt Request Line for IC2A interrupt to PC PC can set non maskable interrupt to IC2A 64 Kbps full duplex supporting both asynchronous and synchronous modes
External I/O:
DB37 connector provides RS232 signals for both ports through quadplex cable with two DB25 connectors RS232 signals provided are TXD, RXD, RTS, CTS, DSR, DCD, TXC, RXC, and RI.
Compatibility:
IC2A installs in PC/XT bus Industry Standard Architecture micro computers. Compatibility testing will be performed by Franklin Telecom on an arranged basis.
Physical & Electrical:
