DMA, you're absolutely right. The hypocrites in this whole business are the Democrats. At the beginning publicly and privately since, they condemned El Clinto's actions, a few called for his resignation.
Then, like lemmings to the sea, the few who knew in their hearts and minds that this is unacceptable conduct and that he committed perjury and obstruction, cowardly reversed themselves to save party and not face the displeasure of a society gone overboard on self indulgence and moral decay.
The final effects of all of this will not be felt or quantified for maybe ten years or so. However, there will be a price that will be paid for letting him take a walk. This demeaning of the Office Of The President has undermined whatever trust or respect that remained in the eyes of the citizens for that position. The requirements and qualifications for that position are now dumbed down the the less than ordinary. In fact, a high school principal's job requirements are far above The Office of The President.
The message going forward is simply this, "give us the known corrupted person, unmoral person, perjurious person, lying person, phony person, cowardly person; we don't care as long as he tells us what we want to hear and bribes us by throwing money promises at every disaffected and malcontent group. Take the money and run, but don't ask why or how. |
