IBM's main source of revenues is still the mainframe which, as we all know, is a (slowly) dying breed. At least not a growth market.

Big companies like the big blue need BIG new products for sustenance. IBM has none. There is only so much you can do to cut costs, or to cozy up to your investment banking friends (like Salomon Brothers--known by some on SI as Salami Brokers <g>) to jack up the stock price.

I had suggested sometime ago on this thread to one of our put gurus that IBM would be a far better "put" play than INTC.
