All,

I have followed TDFX and most importantly, I have
used various video card with different chipsets.

Everyone that I know is getting rid of the Voodoo2's
and going Riva TNT.

Not to be a basher or anything, but in the real world
playing games, the TNT using Direc3D (Direct X 6.0)
is very GOOD indeed. I am playing BLOOD2 and SHOGO (games
designed using the lithtech engine, lith.com
and these new games are outstanding in high resolution,
not limited to 800x600 like a single Voodoo2 card.

I don't know if the proprietary GLIDE API will win anymore
as Microsoft includes new 3D effects in DX6.
(DX 5.0 not impressive, but DX 6.0 is!)

The TNT works well with other games such as Quake, Thief,
etc. Unreal is the only game that doesn't play well on
the TNT due to the bad Direct3D support by the game
developer, OpenGL work fine, but it has the typical gamma problems that OpenGL games exhibit.

The newer TNT's running higher clock speed should have no
problem competing with Voodoo3. 3DFX is still sticking with
16 bit color and TNT does 32 bit already and there is a
noticable difference. Play the games and see for yourself.
