Michael,

That is how the Ford Visa card worked before they 86'd it. The rebate was 5% with a maximum of $700 dollars per year. Last year during Spring with rebate mania going on I found a dealer that was doubling the Ford $1000 dollar rebate on top of a good advertised price in the paper. After making sure they would honor the price and rebate (no easy task) I mentioned the $2000 I had on the Visa card. That was also taken off the price. Since I never paid interest on the card this was probably a bad deal for Ford. They had already cancelled the program (except for accrued rebates). Probably because of me. <G>
