Options will at least spur more interest in the stock. Just wonder if it gives shorts an out - cover their positions at a loss, and buy Puts. Then if stock soars, they've limited their losses. If it plunges near term, they still have a gain. Except unlike shorting, Puts can (will) expire worthless. Then they've lost at both ends.

I see it as a positive only for the added interest and attention. I'd be interested to hear anyone else's opinion.
