Craig,

You have made a strong cautionary statement. It would almost make one want to liquidate positions in all of the high flying issues in a portfolio.

Simply stated, nobody ever lost money taking a profit.

Some of your analogies seem improbable, though not implausible. I almost detect a bit of paranoia in the post.

I am gambling that SNDK will prevail over Lexar. There is precedent to support this roll of the dice. It will be a landmark decision. It could also be a deep flesh wound if SNDK loses. ( At the least SNDK has manufacturing economies of scale in place and a presence in the retail market. It may not be as bad as it seems given they are profitable without any royalties being paid on CF to date.)

I also would like to be on board when Olympus announces a defection to the CF standard and when 3Com announces an MMC or a CF slot on the latest version of the Palm Pilot.

I also have learned that it is as tempting to sell your winners prematurely as it is to hold on to your losers as they plummet to earth.
