for newbies to LGND....it isn't a question of IF approval on two drugs in the new future, it is just a matter of when. From CTSL and elsewhere we get the sense that approval is close (weeks) to even closer (this week). That could be one or both drugs or wrong if rumor wrong. BUT, both drugs have already received approvable letters, both have cleared all FDA panels, and both are in labeling negotiations with FDA. When they agree on a label, it is a done deal. At that point LGND can start selling the drugs. It is not a question of IF, only WHEN. So, if days become a week, that does not represent a problem except from some traders' perspectives. AND, since the investment community has come to wait for approvals being done in many cases before moving the stocks, the announcement of an approval could only be the START of a move, not a sell on the news event.
