Well, I think they might be able to off load it to small investors, however, that would raise a couple of problems. Increase available supply of the stock by something approaching 4MM shares which would have an adverse impact on the trading price. (IBM is a good example of the current view that you buy back your stock and lever up debt to do it.) And, raise liability concerns (both the company and the underwriters) should the stock tank.

There was a funny exchange between EasyAl and I believe Sen. Ron Wyden(sp). Wyden starts out asking about investment in the Internut. EasyAl cuts him off and interjects "That's called investment?". He, he, he.

There was something for both bulls and bears. He drew the analogy to a lottery. Lottery prices are always way out of wack and people are willing to pay far more than the chance is worth. The payoff is 0 or a big number. Some companies will succeed but the vast majority will fail. The internut is a major change, but who knows who the ultimate winners will be. Soooo, I'm not so sure he really cares all that much about the mania, nor will he do anything to dampen the mania.

Regards, Ice
