If Bradlees is going to successfully emerge from bankruptcy, and succeed in the future, Mr. Thorner must seek out a retail marketing niche. The discount retailing sector is beginning to get over-crowded and IMO Bradlees has their work cut out for them. AMES has been mentioned as one of several players interested in some of the better Caldor locations in the northeast. I have heard they might be interested in about 20 Caldor locations, FWIW. MT
