William,
In highly inflated market times with a significant portion of investors in the momentum camp, a sell off like occurred in WIND is not unusual. Many fund managers and large investors shoot first and ask questions later. Look at what happened to VSIO when the CFO said that their growth would be "only" 30% for the next 2 quarters and then would resume their usual 40% rate. The firm which lowered its earnings estimates for VSIO kept its long term growth expectation at 40% but the stock dropped quickly from above 40 to below 26.

For an even more dramatic (and painful for me) example, look at MRVC. They have never had a losing quarter but were slaughtered when they announced on one of the worst days of the year, Aug.31, that they had stumbled and would miss a few quarter's estimates (NOT LOSE MONEY). Check out that thread now for very interesting recent developments.

Finally, look at THQI which has dropped from around 31 to 23 (now heading back up) on absolutely nothing but good news. The stock market is often not rational, especially over the short term.

Just some food for thought.

Bob
