I feel that in 1999 the tide will turn regarding the attitude of the treatment of ED in men with organic ED with underlying cardiovascular problems. All the cute Viagra jokes will eventually be replaced with serious concerns as to whether taking Viagra is worth the underlying risks. It's not only a matter of men with CAD or high blood pressure etc.... its also a matter if a man is willing to accept that if he does have a heart attack after engaging in sex and taking Viagra he will not be able to receive the drug (nitro) which can save his life.

I have a lot of respect for the Canadian government which has decided not to allow its citizens to become the guinnea pigs of a fad drug even when most of its citizens can readily cross the border to obtain Viagra. Although I believe that Canada will eventually approve Viagra, I also believe we will see a label that should be adequate unlike US labeling of Viagra. Seems like many countries are more concerned with curbing black market sales of Viagra by allowing government approval without requiring independent studies on Viagra's safety in the CVD patient.
