Let's say Barrick withdraws - this may have become a clash of personalities - then party X makes a bid which ARP recommends to shareholders - then Barrick comes in with a slightly higher bid - the Lundins can hardly change their tune then - so Barrick then wins - or wins a bidding war - which would last long IMO, because the other party can get only 60 % of J/V, assuming it gets at least 90% of the stock and can do a squeeze-out for the remaining 10% . dd
