Head-fake

This kind of false-start in the morning is pretty common with internet stocks. I've seen it happen regularly with Inktomi (INKT) on minimal news. Basically what happened for INPR is that a bunch of people (well enough to buy about 100-200K shares) read the headline of the press-release, saw the extravagant earnings, didn't bother to do their research, and put in market buy orders. The MM's seeing the market orders pushed the price up until the market orders were all filled at the high price and then let it drop.

Moral of the story? Don't do market orders, don't do any orders without doing your research. Or, watch for similar sucker plays on other issues and see if you can take advantage of the market-order-suckers yourself.
