I began investing in Dimd about 3 years ago and am quite used to these ups and downs, poorly worded explanations of earning, and unjustified hype, but I am very impressed with this earnings announcement. The fact that they made a profit at all is very important as far as reassuring Wall Street that management can make money. Whether it is $.15 or $.18 is immaterial in the long run.

My conclusions:
1. Management is finally getting serious about the bottom line.
2. Narrowing the focus on product array and concentration on profit margins will make the analysts very happy.
3. Focusing attention on new proprietory products will get them out of the price wars.
4. Very upbeat announcement as to year 1999.Very refreshing to hear words like"strong Q1" and "maintaining momentum".
5. The Rioport web site demonstrates progressive and imaginative sales management and may finally get some wall street attention for DIMD
6. With restructuring now out of the picture, inventory under better control, and out sourcing of production costs should result in more time spent on developing a more defined business plan (model).
7. I am a bit concerned about the cash drain but it will certainly force better asset management.
8. The long term prospects for Diamond are excellent and my hope is that tomorrow will see a stock price upturn.
