don't let our high-falootin' talk deceive you: there's really nothing very complicated about raff channels. it's just a way to look for deviations from a general pattern, and it doesn't involve much more than jr high math (assuming you have a computer to tell you where the least-squares line is... otherwise it involves multivariable calculus... <grin>).

i don't think there's a take-home message here either. i view tech analysis the same way i view astrology: it can be a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon, but i certainly won't base any decisions on its prognoses. also similarly to astrology, tech analysis can give a lot of different (conflicting) results depending on your method, and all of them are vague enough so that the analysts can usually claim to have been right. finally, i think that the sector where tech analysis is least applicable is tech stocks, since companies and industries change quickly, and the fundamentals are a much more powerful force than are the whims of "market movements."

speaking of prognoses, my weather-in-silicon-valley index predicts a gap up open for intc tomorrow morning. :-)
