Hi again, Adnrew,

If you don't like TA then you won't like Raff channels. TA can help you set your position open and close points and know when to fold 'em... as they say. The Raff channel works better with some stocks than others... although even INTC can be psyched out for short periods with Raff.

One good example of the value of Raff channels can be seen in OATs (Quaker Oats). I draw lines parallel to the 3 lines in the Raff plot so I end up with 5 lines equidistant apart.

The Raff channel contains OATs back to and past the 87 crash. (Some comedian could make a joke out of that statement, I'm sure.) In 89, 91 and 94, OATs approached the upper Raff channel and turned back. The stock spent over 90% of the past 10 years between the 2 extra lines I drew.

How to use this??? Besides the obvious reversal points at the outside lines... it can provide guidance for traders who might not know that the stock is fairly priced in the center, overpriced near the top of the channel and underpriced at the lower part. And this gives rise to rules that would say not to buy high and sell low... vaguely familiar??

Hope that helps. When TA gets too complicated... you might as well add bat wings and eye of newt to the brew... not for me at that point. But ignore TA at your own peril... you can actually get some good trades minding it.

Regards,

Bill
