Spock would know or McCoy would laugh <<Logic reasoning is what the world is built on today...but is it correct?>> McCoy to Spock : "You and your damned logic." Spock to McCoy : "That is illogical Doctor." Still, if I was injured, I would want to see McCoy. Spock is the Science Officer however, and can usually figure out the right thing to do, he gets to say illogical a lot. If I wanted to know something, I suppose it could fall in the ken of either, but the best bet would be to ask the Captain, then he could get them both to work on it.
