While I don't expect it to happen, the perception of liquidity being dried up can be changed in the snap of AG's fingers. We are facing difficult military situations in Iraq and Kosovo. We are facing a major slowdown of the US govt because of the impeachment trial. What's to prevent AG from stepping up to the plate if he feels a panic situation might occur? Not immediately but if the situation starts looking grim?

We have seen the NASDAQ go up 50% in under 4 months. Backing off is to be expected. Anyone who has initiated brand new large long positions is taking a huge risk, I agree. I have been advocating a conservative market position and do so with both eyes open.

Anyone who is fully margined and has no other reserves at this time is just asking to have their heads handed to them, IMO.

If you tell everyone to move to a cash position you are saying that a minimum of 20% fall will occur or else why pay out huge capital gains tax?
