Statement pasted from Stockhouse:
Microforum [MCF:TSE] -- Cheap Shot Has Little Effect
MCF shareholders are relieved tonight that a cheap-shot article written by the Financial Post's (so-called) "Technology Reporter" had little, if any, effect on the share price today as the stock closed down just 5 cents at $1.90 on healthy volume of 664,000 shares traded.
We would rather not get into all the details of the article as it involves what many agree is a private matter regarding Howard Pearl's past. However, to avoid the appearance of hiding anything, we will say the article discloses criminal offences committed by Mr. Pearl about twenty years ago. While Pearl has not widely publicized the mistakes of his youth, in order to protect his family's privacy, he has ALWAYS FULLY DISCLOSED the situation to securities regulators, major clients and business associates and the management and board of directors of Microforum. In the words of former Ontario Premier and current MCF chairman, David Peterson, "He's a very fine manager. He works very hard and he's an outstanding citizen."
Those with an appetite for this kind of sordid attack will find some sustenance in the Internet chat forums, but as far as the Insider Group is concerned, we would rather focus on present-day business matters. |
