Sonny ---Lu does not have enough shares available for a 2 for one split . In the proxy they sent out just recently they were asking shareholders permission to double the amount of authorize share from 3 billion to six billion share . The board meets FEB 17---this is when I think they will announced a split : "The 1999 annual meeting of shareowners will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at The Playhouse Theatre, DuPont Building, 10th and Market streets, Wilmington, Del. As a convenience, shareowners of record may vote their proxies via the Internet at lucent.proxyvoting.com. Or to vote by phone, call toll-free 1 800 293-5876.
