Just as I expected Barron's mentioned Radisys as an overpriced tech stock in the latest issue but not in the update section or in the Abelson column but rather as part of a special section. Again as predicted no objective reasons were given for the mention of RSYS in this column. I suspect that much of the volume on Friday was short selling which may continue over the next few days. Despite my bullish stance it is important to remember that it is possible that the short sellers are telling the truth. I am worried because I do not personally know anything beyond what is put out by the company - I own the stock on faith. I am willing to lose my whole investment in RSYS rather than to panic into selling. If and when I find that management is dishonest and putting out wrong numbers I will sell out at a huge loss but I remember similar gyrations in the stock price of Cisco as recently as early 1993 with huge short positions. There is no doubt in my mind that there is a concerted effort to bring down the price of RSYS so the worst thing to do is to sell out of fear. If someone lives near the company or has some insights that can help us better understand what's going on please tell us. I hope not to lose any money on RSYS and am willing to wait out the next few weeks even as the stock price tanks even further.
