That rule only applies to tax sheltered retirement savings accounts. In your taxable investment account you can own anything. Unfortunately, given our poor performing market, Cdns saving for retirement need more foreign exposure and the tax rules do limit us to 20% in our sheltered savings plans. It sucks , I agree. I'd love to have more exposure to the NAZ in my tax sheltered account.
