Paul is right with MSFT's DS FUD machine goin into high gear as soon as they know they have an internal confirmed date of shipping of Windows2000 and Active Directory. They will promise the moon (as if they arent already) and preach it on the highest mountain.

When this time arrives (which I woul guess in Q3-4 of this year when the pre-release FUD will start) NOVL must have a critical mass of NDS enabled "ZENs" in all areas of technology - including the e-commerce, Internet service portal, corporate networking foundation, ERP market, etc. etc.

As for Digital Me and Novell's silence on its pending arrival, I think they wanted to create partnership excitement but its clear that they are waiting for Brainshare to announce to the world their intentions of Digital Me. They did not have a strategy of making any announcements about Digital Me until March. It makes no sense to me that they dont run with the pre-release excitement of Digital Me as a "Trial Balloon" strategy so they can get opinions and impressions from the industry.

I think our board's discussion of Digital Me was unexpected and they might even be a bit nervous about the word getting out in the industry before its time. But they were the ones that bragged about it at the Partners Summit which was NDA and they must have known that the word about Digital Me would get out.

Maybe Novell Marketing did not realize how exciting a piece of technology they have under their belt.

Unfortunately the media does not focus enough on Novell to realize that Digital Me was demonstrated, nor do they read our postings on SI (as we are in the dirty-water bowels of the Internet discussion boards - LOL). Maybe Novell Marketing might be planning a tactical plan on getting the official word out on Digital Me because of boards like ours beginning to talk about it.

Just my thoughts.
