Colin, not that I'm an expert or anything, but to use an analogy, daytrading is something like big-wave riding. The knowledge of how to do it is accretive. You don't wade into 20-foot surf your first or second year. Competence in big-wave surfing doesn't come overnight, you cannot instantly translate small wave surfing prowess into big-wave riding, and it not something you are born with. Those men you occaisionally see on television (or at the beach) who are making it look easy have more than likely spent the better part of their lives perfecting their style and growing in their ability to handle larger and larger waves. Every year, on the North Shores of all islands, people die, usually from trying to bite off too much wave too soon.

Of course, you knew this.

I really appreciated Tom's perspective yesterday. It was nice to be given that kind of information in a rational reasoned manner instead of the typical, stupid, short-seller prophecies about upcoming news with no reference, and the always enjoyable, "How low can this dog go?" posts.
