lml, I agree with your observations that "... the ORCL management team in place know their business better than the competition & better than the analysts...." As an add-on to this I'd like to re-iterate some of the points I've mentioned in previous posts. Most of the players in the database and ERP marketplace have tiny market valuations, and technical and financial resources relative to Oracle. The industry is in for a major shakeout where many of the players will eventually cease to exist or at best be marginal non-competitive players. Baan will be the first to disappear. Who will be next? I don't know?
Will their be acquisitions? Possibly. At the end of the day I have to believe Oracle is very quickly becoming the 900lb Gorilla that will dominate the DB, ERP, and Ecommerce marketplace for Enterprise Software. These windows of investment opportunity only happen once in a lifetime. SAP, ORCL's next largest mkt cap competitor(also with technical and financial resources) will continue to stumble and fall like the small caps.

Thoughts, opinions, anyone?
John
