TP,
<<The problem comes in as to who sets the standards. I saw the reports on Congressman DeLay's perjury in his civil suit. Apparently that's not the standard.>>

When asked about this apparent discrepancy in the standards on the Geraldo show on CNBC last night, Ann Coulter, the republican lawyer and talking head, was (imo) wonderfully candid in her response: as long as Delay stuck to "I don't remember" and "I don't recall", it was not perjury. I think this hits the nail right on the head: "I don't recall" is the one and only acceptable response in these situations. Any attempt to evade the questions in a more clever ("lawyerly") way is viewed, perhaps correctly, as arrogant hubris.
