Mark, the index option prices are outrageous when compared to the equity option prices. You can get the big bang with the equity options for less money. As for buying Intel puts - not a chance, when you have other things like IBM to offset against holdings in Intel. Logic indicates that the computer stocks will head down either first or simultaneously with the semis. This can be extrapolated from the fact that computer stocks tend to go up first when their business picks up; thus increasing the semis business later as increased demand for computers requires the computer companies to have additional inventory calling for more chips. In other words, chances are that the computer stocks will always make their moves ahead of the semi stocks. Good trading. Jack
