Patrick / Value Companies

Here's a group of mine, I hope someone else offers comments also.

I believe these companies offer growth in releation to current share value and prospects for 1997. In doing due diligence, make sure you have a handle on 1997 in regards to production forecasts and cash flow per share. If you can, pick up Net Asset Values (NAV) for year ending 1996 from the companies, they would be of value to you also.

Barrington Petroleum
Canadian Occidental Petroleum
Carmanah Resources
Hugoton Energy (US)
International Petroleum
Northstar Energy
Stampeder Exploration
Ulster Petroleums
Windsor Energy

Nine is fine. Top in terms of fundamental value would be Canadian Occidental Pete and Ulster Pete. Three of the above are not listed in any of my listings. They are pending and will be if I get discouraged with any companies currently listed.

If you want to speculate a little, consider little Harbour Petroleum.
Roughly 1/2 of current share price is in the form of cash on hand. This company is reputed to have good management and there is no debt currently. Debt is what buried the company in past 1-1/2 years and they did learn a lesson in this area. I believe they have the properties to provide good growth in terms of reserves and production.
