<<Wintel box that will likely die or have problems in less than a year?>>

Scene: Crowded courtroom. Case: Corporate America vs. Wintel Box Makers.

Wintel lawyer: You're honor it would be a great injustice to the technology industry to allow the plaintiffs to win this multibillion dollar suit. Money spent on Y2K recovery operations were not on the urgings of our clients. No one twisted their arms to to hire the thousands of programmers to rewrite software. In fact, you really can't prove that the Y2k disaster was anything but an act of God!

Judge: I have reviewed your supporting documents and cannot make any sense of them. Your exhibits (pointing to graphs and charts sloppily drawn with marker and crayon) equally nebulous.

Wintel Lawyer: I apologize your honor. As you well know, we have no computers to run spellcheck and I am not used to using a typwriter. As for the graphs, I ran out of blue crayon and had to finish with green if you look carefully here..... (pointing to part of chart where color abruptly changed)...

Lawyer for Corporate America: Your Honor! I object to this farce presented to this court! As you can see from my exhibits, his clients represented 90 percent of the computers installed! and almost all of those computers failed immediately after the new year! (pointing to handsomely printed colorful charts).

Judge: And how is it that you were able to crunch this data and print out a presentation when almost all computers have stopped working?

Lawyer for Corporate America: Very simply your Honor. I got a Mac!

Courtroom: Gasping in suprise.
