Another thought on PNLK and where Glenn may take the marketing efforts in the future.
With all the talk these days on community and the value associated with companies such as TGLO, XMCM, LCOS, GCTY, it occurs to me that PNLK could (maybe should) be positioning itself to be the first "community" site devoted strictly to businesses who are involved in global commerce.
All of the new enhancements that Click is working on lend themselves very well to communuity building: customized front pages, chat rooms, links to trade leads, stock and commodity quotes, conferencing, a Personalized Virtual office that will allow the member to showcase his or her company (which will be more than a virtual business card by allowing users to show pictures, catalogs and price lists), address books, time managers. Not only is PNLK building a community of international businesses, it is providing them with the TOOLS they need to do business more efficiently, more cost-effectively and to expand their markets.
One other company that seems to be following a similar model is Earthweb, which is a site targeted towards the IT community. Stock is about $50/share now.
In my opinion, the potential of building a global web community based on paying import/export businesses is huge. ANy thoughts? |
