Well, fuck society! It can damned well look after itself. I won't hang someone who tries to injure me where that's the only crime. How does some one hitting me, or stealing my money, affect anyone else? When they were kids my children stole any money left accessible, from time to time. Do I turn them into that wretched government you hate so much, or tell them not to steal, but to steal from us rather than from anyone else? How does my refusing to prosecute my friend who tried to rape me injure anyone? I assume he wanted to rape me because he desired or hated me. There were many other boys around, all prettier, most weaker, all more submissive and agreeable than I. I cannot even imagine why he took a chance, perhaps he knew that I would never injure him if things went wrong. I laugh at the idea he was driven mad by lust, as anyone would who saw me naked then. As to his future behavior, I never heard a rumor that he was a child abuser or a homosexual (not that it would have mattered). He married on time, raised a big family, and was accepted as a leading citizen everywhere. I know no hint of scandal in his life. He cannot be identified but by himself from anything I've said although its clear I should not have raised the question.
I am astounded that a person of even modest moral sensibilities would assume that a boy who as far as I know made one homosexual assault on a 15 year old friend, would attack children sexually. Where is the connection? Did any of your friends (assuming you ever had a friend) do something wrong for which you reported them to the authorities? Did you ever play sexually with your friends when you were adolescent or younger and then report them to the sex patrol? Did you ever engage in sexual play with your teenage friends and then rat on them to the assistant principal? Did you ever engage in any illicit sex in your whole life and not denounce your partner to the cops? Did you denounce every one who hit on you (assuming someone hit on you) to the police? Did you denounce every whore who pulled your sleeve or grabbed your crotch? Before you cast a stone at me, ask if you are free from this particular sin of not betraying your best friend? |
